LEWISTON – Oncology dietitian Ashley Whalen will host “Eating for Optimal Health During and After Cancer Treatment” at the July 11 meeting of the Central Maine Comprehensive Cancer Center’s Cancer Wellness and Support Group.
Whalen will provide information about what a healthy, well-balanced diet means, incorporating nutrition and physical activity guidelines from the American Cancer Society. She will talk about different foods and components of foods, including antioxidants/phytochemicals, organic foods, soy products and dietary supplements.
The session will close with the preparation and enjoyment of a healthy summer treat.
The program will be offered from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. in Conference Room I on the Lower Level of the 12 High Street Medical Office Building at CMMC.
The program is free and no advance registration is required.
