Kristen Cady, center left, director of marketing at the Sun Journal, presents Tina Levasseur, center right, and students at Poland Spring Academy with USA Weekend’s Make A Difference Day Award. Levasseur and her students won for their project of providing back packs filled with goodies for foster care children who often leave their homes with nothing. The project started in 2001 by foster parent Tina Brisbois, who died four years ago and is now done in her memory.
