NORWAY – The Commons Art Collective July group show, “NOT Summer in the City,” featuring works by Debra Wentworth, Greg Shattenberg, Mary Brooking, Gemma Dreher, and Judy Schneider, will run through July 28.
An opening reception will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, July 6, in conjunction with the free 2007 Norway Summer Festival, July 5-7.
The annual community festival features the 40th Annual Norway Sidewalk Art Show, a juried fine arts show with paintings, photography, wood and metal sculpture, glass, jewelry, and fiber art. Other highlights include a street dance with music by popular bands, puppet show, Rotary auction, book sale, quilt show, and spinning and weaving demonstration, plus dance performances, poetry readings, juggling and mime, and children’s activities and entertainment.
Artwork in the “NOT Summer in the City” exhibit can be viewed from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the CAC, 447 Main St., Norway, or through the Fare Share Market. For more information about the CAC, log on to www.faresharecoop.org.
