LEWISTON – For the second year, Summer Breeze will be a highlight during the months of July and August at the Vineyard Church.

A weekly gathering centering around a hot dog barbecue, conversation, music and teaching, this year’s focus will be on “Understanding Worship.” The first Summer Breeze evening was held on July 11 and the series will continue at 6:30 p.m. each Wednesday through Aug. 22.

Last year’s investigation of “The Ministry of the Holy Spirit in the 21st Century Church” was well attended. A live band, teaching, music and other art forms will interweave while giving a picture of the function of worshipping God. The art of worship, worship in everyday life, corporate worship and private worship are among the topics to be explored.

Instrumentalists, vocalists, dancers and actors will accent the conversations as the series unfolds. Events will culminate in a full evening of corporate worship on the final Summer Breeze night in August.

A hot dog barbecue begins at 5:30 p.m., and childcare is provided free, although an offering will be taken to defray expenses.

The seven-week series will be held at the new Vineyard auditorium, 12 Foss Road. Administrative offices are located at 9 Foss Road. For more information, call 784-9500 or visit http://vineyardlewiston.com.
