LEWISTON – Leona B. Massey, 95, of 79 Maple St., Lewiston, died Tuesday, July 24, at Montello Manor with members of her family at her side.

She was born in St. David, July 13, 1912. She was one of 10 children born to Come and Agnes Beaulieu.

She married Robert Massey in 1934, and raised three children. She worked most of her life in the Lewiston-Auburn area. She had several different occupations before retiring many years ago.

A very religious person, she enjoyed volunteering at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, and meeting with friends and new acquaintances. She was always ready to lend a helping hand to all that needed it. She is best remembered for her warm smile, her love of babies and the wonderful pies she baked.

Survivors include her son, Robert, of Lewiston; daughter, Joan Young, and her husband, Edwin, of Brunswick; two sisters, Gertrude Harrison of Gardiner and Phelda Cote of Madawaska; 12 grandchildren, Steve, Scott, Todd, Nadine and Troy Massey, Michelle Foerster, Gregory Massey, Kevin Massey, Kathleen Cowen, Karen Young, Kelly Rom and Brian Young; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Robert in 1967; a son, Roger Massey in 1993; her four brothers, Josephel, Emile, Frank and Gerard; and three sisters, Sadie Massey, Delia LaHaye and Elizabeth Mongeau.
