LEWISTON – Lewiston Adult Education is accepting registrations for fall courses. Residents are invited to participate in a variety of courses designed to help people energize their mind, get fit, try something new or learn new skills to use at work or to prepare for college.
Program brochures listing more than 140 courses were recently mailed out to all Lewiston and Auburn residents and placed in sites throughout the community.
Many classes begin the week of Aug. 27; others begin throughout the fall term. Interested adults are encouraged to register early since many classes fill quickly and others require a preregistration meeting with an academic adviser.
Registrations can be completed by mail, phone, fax, online or by stopping at the adult education office located in the lobby of Lewiston High School. To schedule and appointment with an adviser, call 795-4141.
In addition to academic courses to earn a high school credential or prepare for college, there are many new courses during the fall semester. “Adobe Illustrator,” “Basic Design and Drafting,” as well as “Web Site Development,” are new programs that can be used for work or to enhance a hobby.
“Introduction to Industrial Welding” is a new program designed for individuals with the goal of a career in welding. Other classes include traditional rug hooking, “Forensic Science Truths and Myths,” tennis or Latin dance.
For more information or for details about specific courses, contact Lewiston Adult Education at www.lewistonadulted.org or call 795-4141.
