Rumford Lodge of Elks 862 held a flag retirement ceremony recently. Refreshments were served after the ceremony. Approximately 1,500 worn and tattered flags were disposed of during the ceremony. Taking part were, from the left, Robert Dube, Pat Hopkins, Dick Welch, Sandee Welch, Americanism Chairwoman Debi Briggs, Exalted Ruler Donald Hopkins, Richie Philbrick, Albert Pomerleau and American Legion Commander Bob Richardson. Not in the picture but taking part were Harry Bean and David Briggs.
