PERU – Worthley Pond residents held a celebration on the weekend with Santa arriving via kayak. Multicolored lights twinkled on boats and camps surrounding the pond.

About 100 camps and boats were decorated for the season and competed for top prize gift certificates.

Judges Tim and Judy Worden of Wordens ERA in Auburn, Joy Thomas and Raejean Coulombe awarded the top prizes to the following participants:

Camp class: first, Steve Gallant; second, Lariviere-Sarle family; third, Leo Hamann family; honorable mention, Louie and Gloria Barnett, Joe and Claudia Morris, Maurice and Clara Allen, John and Jesse Shea.

Boat class: first, Todd Lariviere; second, Dan and Barbara Tremper; third, Dean and Linda Carter.

Santa also presented lake association awards to James and Barbara Burns, Steve Gallant, Pat and Roxanne Gorham, Steve Austin, Phil and Kathy Buskey, Bruce and Sharon Eastman, Tim and Candy Porter and Dick Austin.
