AUBURN – The Auburn Police Department welcomes people to celebrate National Night Out from 5:30 p.m. to dusk Tuesday, Aug. 7, at Festival Plaza.
Food and all activities are free.
National Night Out is a crime and drug prevention event designed to promote and strengthen neighborhood spirit and police community partnerships.
“Our event is focused on a celebration of a safe community’s commitment to work with us in taking a stand against crime,” said police Chief Phil Crowell Jr.
The event will begin with the reading of a proclamation by Mayor John Jenkins and brief remarks by Chief Crowell. Activities will include missing children’s identification kits; music by DJ Danny; hot dogs, popcorn and lemonade; a bounce house and rock climbing wall; McGruff the Crime Dog and car seat safety checks; a police dive team and bike patrol demonstrations; fire and rescue truck displays; Auburn Police Department K-9 demonstration; and giveaways.
