LEWISTON – Julie & Brownie, who since the 1990s have delivered their award-winning mix of fun-filled songs and educational messages for kids to family audiences, will perform at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, at Bates College.
Brownie Macintosh has been performing since 1965 and has composed songs for the Kingston Trio and the Irish Rovers. Gisele Ganz, a Boston-based actress and singer whose credentials include performances with the Boston Pops, joined the team as “Julie” in 2005.
The two have toured throughout the East Coast and in Canada and have written the children’s books, “The Streamlined Double Decker Bus” and “A Pirate’s Life For Me.”
The concert, part of Bates’ 2007 Lakeside Concert Series, will take place on the quad, in front of Coram Library on Campus Avenue. The rain site is Olin Arts Center Concert Hall.
Bring blankets or lawn chairs and a picnic supper. Amission: free.
