Southern Maine Rebels are prepping for another women’s football season.

This is a full tackle program. Players must be 18 by March 1, 2008.

Players must pre-register for the tryouts. That can be done by calling Ruth Murphy, vice president of the team, at (207) 776-8979, or on-line at www.southernmainerebels.com. There is a $10 tryout fee.

Assorted tryout dates have been established. The first is Saturday, August 11 at 10 a.m. at Wells High School Field. The Lewiston area tryout date is Saturday, Oct. 6 at 10 a.m., at a field to be announced. There is also a tryout date at American Legion Field at Naples on Saturday, Oct. 13 at 10 a.m.

The team is hosting a pick-up game of touch football on Wednesdays at 6:30 at Deering Oaks Park in Portland. New players are welcome.
