LEWISTON – L/A Arts Gallery 5 has opened a new exhibit showcasing the works of 28 Maine artists. Featured are fine art photography, crafted pottery, one-of-a-kind jewelry, paintings in a variety of styles and media, and found art – all reflecting the theme “On The Rocks.”
Participating artists are Kay McKeever Allison, Len Bartel, Kathryn Beausang, Christine Tegler Beneman, Richard E. Dahlquist, Karen Dietrich, Jody Dube, Richard W. Field, Scott Grant, Susan Grant, Frank Gross, and Justin A. Hartford.
Also, Donna Lacey-Derstine, Gloria Limoges, Sally Loughridge, Daniel J Marquis, Carol L Murrell, Richard Murrell, Stephan Myers, Christopher Morgan Noyes, Petrea Noyes, Michael Ranucci, Stephen Ruell, Tahir Saleh, David Simonds, Jeff Soifer, Melanie Therrien, and Jim Walker.
The exhibit will be up through Sept. 8. All artwork is available for purchase.
As part of the exhibit, Gallery 5 will host three Artist Talks, one-hour presentations when two or three artists explain a bit about their featured works and creative process. The talks, all from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., are as follows:
Aug. 9: “The Art of Digital Photography,” artists Justin Hartford and Susan and Scott Grant.
Aug. 23: Topic and artists to be announced.
Sept. 6: “Slab Ceramics and Found Art,” artists Jody Dube and Stephan Myers.

L/A Arts Gallery 5 is next to the Fuel restaurant in Lyceum Hall, 49 Lisbon St. and promotes juried works of art in all media. It is open to the public 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday; 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday; 4 for 8 p.m. Friday; 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday; and by appointment, 576-4805 or [email protected].
