AUBURN – Lewiston-Auburn Community Little Theatre will hold auditions for the Gershwin musical “Crazy For You” at 6:30 p.m. Sunday and Monday, Aug. 19-20, at the Great Falls Performing Arts Center.

“Crazy For You” is about Bobby Child, a stage-struck, wealthy New York banker who yearns for a career on stage. Sent to a small poor town in Nevada to foreclose on the local theater, Child falls in love with the theater owner’s daughter, Polly. To save the theater, Child dreams up the idea to put on a show to raise money. In the end, the town is reinvigorated, the theater is saved and Bobby finds love.

“Crazy For You” is loosely based on the 1930 Gershwin musical “Girl Crazy.”

The show is directed by Tim Pinkham. Both lead roles – Child, age 25-35, barotone; and Polly Baker, 25-35, mezzo soprano – require intense dancing. There are several supporting roles and many cameo characters ranging in age from 20 to 65 that require both singing and dancing.

The theater is at 35 Academy St. For more information, call the box office at 783-0958, or visit the Web site, www.laclt.com.
