DIXFIELD – The 5th annual Festival of Flowers show will open Sunday, Aug. 19, during the town’s Main Street Outdoor Market Day. Flower and plant enthusiasts may bring their flower and plants to place on exhibition at the Dixfield Historical Society (side entrance), 63 Main St., Saturday from noon to 3 p.m.
Doors will be open to the public, with free admission, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
Flower categories include bouquet of wild flowers in a crock or pitcher, bouquet of cut garden flowers, house plants, potted plants or container gardens, flowers in a mug or teacup, a bouquet in or with a toy or piece of sports equipment for children 12 and younger, dried flower arrangement, miniature bouquet (less than 4 inches high, using a tiny vase), and a single flower in a bottle or bud vase.
Greenery and accessories may be used with all entries.
Awards will be given for first, second and third places, honorable mention, best of show and people’s choice.
Entries must be picked up between 3 and 5 p.m. Sunday.
