For three years now, I have compared our mess in Iraq to our mess in Vietnam.

I served in Vietnam for two-and-a-half-years, so I have a little background about that situation, and as an informed citizen I have a little insight about this situation.

President Bush has finally compared Iraq to Vietnam, which is why we cannot walk away. He’s finally awake! Iraq is just like Vietnam and he, Vice President Dick Cheney and former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld put us there, just like former President Lyndon Johnson and Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara did 40 years ago.

I respect and love those young Americans in the pro-war commercials that we taxpayers are paying for, but I have two questions: What is considered victory in Iraq? And how long before we achieve it?

The president doesn’t have a clue. The puppet government of Iraq is exactly like the puppet government of 1965 Vietnam. Iraqis, without united devotion for democracy and equality, and with warring factions fighting over oil and wealth, will never find peace, and Americans will continue to die.

Get out now.
