AUBURN – Roland Berube had a big day as the Great Falls Outlaws edged the the Central Maine Green Wave of Messalonskee 5-4 Sunday at Pettengill Park in a Central Maine Men’s Senior Baseball League contest.

Berube collected 2 hits and scored 2 runs and threw out the potential tying run at the plate in the top of the 9th. It was a bang-bang play. From the outfield, Berube fired a strike to Catcher Rod Bates who spun and applied the tag to preserve the 4-4 deadlock.

The Outlaws then won it in the bottom of the frame. With 1 out, Dave Coburn (2 hits) ripped a single to left. A walk put runners at first and second. Scott Berube then belted a 2-strike single to right that plated Coburn with the winning run.

Greg Massey led the offense with 3 hits and pitched a complete game. Berube added 2 hits, 1 a triple.

Rick Doble went the distance for the Wave, striking out 7. He also collected 2 hits. John Durrell and Dan Dostie both rapped 3 safeties.
