CASCO – A 74-year-old Denmark man was killed Thursday morning when the motorcycle he was driving and a pickup truck collided on Route 302.
Police said Arnold Dugmore died shortly after he was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland after the 8:30 a.m. crash. Police said he was wearing a helmet.
Dugmore was driving east on Route 302 and approaching Point Sebago Road when a man driving a truck pulled out in front of him, police said.
Dugmore attempted to lay the motorcycle down to avoid a collision, but his Honda clipped the right, front corner of the truck, police said.
Inside the pickup, 45-year-old Clarence Hanscom, of Pownal, was not hurt. Police said early indications are that Hanscom did not see Dugmore approaching on the motorcycle as Hanscom was making a left turn from Point Sebago Road onto Route 302.
The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department was investigating the crash.
