The book of Isaiah 55:1-3a says, “Come, all ye who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money, or cost. Why spend money on what is not bread, and you labor on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and your soul will delight in the richest of fare. Give ear and come to me; hear me, that your soul may live.”

We live in a nation today which, in large part, has forgotten God and His admonitions. Consequently, we worship idols of all kinds: we adulate celebrities, even when they commit crimes, take drugs, get arrested for driving offenses, etc., and ignore the truly great people; like Dr. D. James Kennedy, who devoted most of his life to the cause of Christ, and who died last Wednesday without a mention of his name in any of the secular news media.

Most Americans have false values and counterfeit solutions to every problem that arises. We set about changing everything but the person(s) involved in the difficulty, in short, most of us do just the opposite of what God, in His Word, advises. See Philippians 4:8 for example.

God help us!
