Dear Sun Spots: We are the Gold Star Wives of America Inc., Dirigo Chapter, and are the wives of service members. It is the only chapter in Maine. We are looking for any wives of service members who served in the U.S. Armed Services and who might not be aware that there are benefits out there for them and their families. Benefits include education and burial reimbursement.
Come chat with us. We’ll be at the wreath-laying at 1 p.m Saturday at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall replica at Veterans Memorial Park.
In addition, we will also be volunteering at the wall from 1 p.m. on Thursday and Friday. I’d be happy to chat with any wives at that time. Alternatively, I can be reached at 634-3621. For more on this organization, please check out www.goldstarwives.org. – Jena Wilde, Norridgewock.
