Dear Sun Spots: I enjoy reading your column every day. Now, I have a question for you.

I intend to have a table at a craft fair this fall with all sewed items. I was told that I needed a sales tax number. I now have that, but now how and where is the tax form filed and which form do I use?

Also, I was told not to make any baby blankets or stuffed items such as stuffed animals or anything with some sort of stuffing. I would appreciate your input on this matter. – No Name, Lewiston.

Answer: Regarding your first question, according to the Maine Revenue Services, 624- 9693 your dates will be on the information sent to you when you got your sales tax number. In addition, it will also advise you when your due date is. The form they’ve sent you will suffice for filing.

Regarding your second question, Sun Spots is unclear who has given you the information and would suggest you contact the fair organizers to seek clarification.
