LEWISTON – The Senior College “Food for Thought” luncheon program series at USM/Lewiston-Auburn will feature on Friday, Oct. 12, a presentation on “Internet Fraud” by David Allen, manager of the University Credit Union in Portland.
Allen will discuss the most current fraudulent schemes involving credit cards and the Internet and provide ways to spot them so as not to become victimized. His program will include actual Web pages and ways to determine possible scams.
Allen is a graduate of the University of Southern Maine School of Business and a former banker. Currently the vice president for finance for USM’s Alumni and chairman of the Alumni Scholarship Committee, he also serves as the liaison and student mentor to Corporate Partners of USM.
The program will be held at noon in the Function Room 170 at USM/L-A. The cost, which includes lunch, is $6.50 with advance reservation or $8 at the door, opening at 11:30 a.m.
Reservations must be made by noon Thursday, Oct. 11, by phone at 753-6510 or online at usm.maine.edu/lac/seniorcollege. The phone line will not be checked after noon and any late callers will be considered as “at the door.”
