PARIS – In honor of October being Disability Employment Awareness Month, The Progress Center Inc. is celebrating some of the outstanding local employers.

The center’s annual employer recognition night dinner will be held Thursday, Oct. 18, at the Silver Spur in Mechanic Falls. It is an opportunity for the agency to thank special people and to raise awareness of its programs as well as funds needed to ensure continued success in employment services for people with disabilities.

The center will honor National Wood Products as Outstanding Employer of 2007. Other employees receiving recognition include Cut Loose, Weston-Chandler Funeral Homes, Polly’s Variety, Norway Fire Department, MCD Brookside and West Paris Baptist Church.
