Maine (1-5) at Stony Brook (3-4)

3 p.m., Saturday, LaValle Stadium

Black Bears haven’t won since edging Monmouth of the Northeast Conference on Sept. 1. Here’s a chance to get well against another second-tier opponent from the lesser NEC. Stony Brook is 0-13 all-time against opponents from the Colonial Athletic Association, including a 42-0 drubbing at the hands of Richmond last week. The Seawolves have lost four of their last five games. Stony Brook QB Josh Dudash has thrown for over 1,200 yards, with Conte Cuttino and Brandon Mason teaming for 955 on the ground. Black Bears’ defenders Jonathan Pirruccello of Turner and Jordan Stevens of Temple have a combined nine tackles for loss. Maine’s offense has committed only six turnovers, but the defense has forced just four. Prediction: Maine, 24-21.
