This year’s homecoming weekend was a blast! Although we didn’t win all of our homecoming activities we still had fun! To kick the great weekend off, our assistant principal, Mr. Warren Galway, gathered the student body in the gym for a pep rally. Mr. Galway had students do all sorts of activities. He had us chant the McDonald’s commercial “I’m into Nuggets, y’all” and also the ever popular “Greyhound Pride, It’s Inside!” school chant. The team captains playing over the weekend did their best to persuade students to come watch their activity. At the end of the pep rally, we had a moment of silence for Aaron Farmer, a former student of Lisbon High who recently died in a car crash.
Kicking off the homecoming activities Lisbon Varsity Women’s Soccer played against Jay High School with a score of 2-0, Lisbon. The Men’s Varsity Soccer team also went against Jay High School with a score of 7-0, Lisbon. Women’s Junior Varsity against Jay had a score of 3-1, Lisbon. The Boys’ Varsity did not have a game scheduled. The Varsity Football team had a game against Old Orchard Beach. The score was 6-8, Old Orchard. The Varsity Field Hockey Team had a game against Jay, which they lost 0-1. The Junior Varsity team had a score of 2-1, Lisbon.
After all of the activities, Lisbon students had a little celebration on the first day of homecoming. We were all down at the softball field under the lights and just spent time with each other. Saturday, September 22 was our homecoming dance. All of us had a blast. There was nothing but dancing, having fun, and enjoying each other’s presence.
