ROXBURY – The Roxbury ATV Riders held election of officers recently. Chosen were president, Mike Worthley; vice president, Klaus True; secretary, Wanda Worthley; and treasurer, Jane Ryerson.

The board of directors is composed of William Morse, Victor Peterson, Erland Waterhouse, David Sinclair, Craig Ryerson, Albert Chartier, John Houy, Kathleen Ferreria and Chairman Klaus True. members elected a director and an alternate to ATV Maine: Victor Peterson and Adam Ferreria.

Trails closed Oct. 21 were Coley from the park and ride to Horseshoe Valley to Route 120 in Andover and the Chandler Trail. Those riding in Andover are asked by the town to ride on the tar on town roads.

The Ellis River Riders gave a $200 donation for the use of trails. The club has received a donation from Albert Ladd and a bag of coated seed from Ken Koskela.

A committee will make up Christmas baskets for landowners. Those who would like to donate should contact Wanda Worthley at 545-2715, drop items off at 1162 Roxbury Notch Road or mail the club at P.O. Box 196, Roxbury, ME 04275.

Business card size ads on the maps are $50 a year. Members report the maps are selling well and they have donated a large vinyl one to the Roxbury Fire Department and one to the Andover Fire Department.

The new incentives for work parties are as follows: 10 hours, hat; 20 hours, T-shirt; 30 hours, long-sleeved shirt; 40 hours, sweatshirt; and more than 40 hours, name goes into a drawing at the end of the year for $100 or an embroidered jacket.

The club is attempting to get more people to attend meetings. All members’ names will go into a bucket and if a name is drawn and they are present, they win $25. If the person drawn is not at the meeting, the amount increases another $25 for the next meeting. In case no one wins by the end of the year, the money will go to a charity.

Spring cleanup will start at the beginning of May. The annual 50-50 will start the first of the year, and the money made will go into the trails or the equipment fund.

Victor Peterson has the okay to build a pavilion at Grimaldi Field for the town of Andover in thanks for letting the club use the town roads.

Tim Canwell presented a letter of appreciation for support of the troops in the “Touch of Home” program.

The Riders will host the ATV Maine meeting from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 8 at the Andover Town Hall. Jane Ryerson and brother, James Lowe, will cook the meal. Those wishing to volunteer should contact Ryerson at 824-2613. Everyone is welcome.

Victor Peterson has made and donated a full-length mirror to raffle at the meeting. There will be a short ride after the meeting, depending on the weather.

A Christmas party will be held after the ATV Maine meeting from 4 to 8 p.m. at the hone of Mike Worthley.
