PORTLAND – It was two years ago that three finalists from Nick at Nite’s search for America’s Funniest Mom entertained Mainers to a sold-out show. The trio of funny moms – Sherry Davey, Nancy Witter and Maine’s own Karen Morgan – will return Friday, Nov. 9, with new ideas about exercise, religion, marriage, parenting and hormones.

They will take the stage at 8 p.m. for Mama’s Night Out at Abromson Center on the University of Maine campus. Proceeds will benefit the Cancer Community Center of South Portland.

Davey has appeared on Comedy Central’s “Premium Blend” and “Tough Crowd” with Colin Quinn and is a national headliner in comedy clubs, casinos and college campuses. Witter was the winner of the Bud Light Ladies of Laughter and performs nationwide at comedy clubs, casinos and corporate events. Davey and Witter are both from New York.

Morgan, who lives in Cumberland, is a trial lawyer turned stay-at-home mom turned stand-up comedienne. She is heard weekly on “The Coast Morning Show” and WCSH6’s 207 series.

“Karen Morgan believes in the adage ‘laughter is the best medicine’ and dispenses her own brand – without a prescription – wherever she goes,” said Michele Johns, executive director of the Cancer Community Center. “The last time these three very funny women were here together, the audience laughed nonstop and most had tears rolling down there faces the entire show,” she added.

Tickets are $25 for general admission, $35 for reserved seats. For tickets, call 774-2200 or order on line at www.CancerCommunityCenter.org.
