Join Richie Perry and hiss “rag tag” band of friends as he finds his true personality in the Vietnam War. In this Walter Dean Myers, action packed, war novel you follow the story of a young man and how he and the rest of his platoon handle the causalities of war. He soon realizes that he must kill the enemy to stay alive. He has to face the tough, the ugly, the good, and everything in between. His best friend Peewee and him stick together and near the end of this book they must trust each other to stay alive. There’s never a dull moment in this fantastic book and it keeps you wanting more. I’d recommend this book to anyone and it’s one of my favorite books. Myers even seems to add humor to this book (something any author usually can’t do with such a topic as the Vietnam War). If you want to know if Richie Perry and Peewee will make it out of Vietnam and get back to their lives, read ‘Fallen Angels.’
