Central Maine Christian Academy sponsors a young child from Uganda through Compassion International. Each year, the junior high and high school put together a Compassion Fair to raise money for our sponsor child.

At the fair, there are all kinds of games. This year, we had face painting, bobbing for apples, pie throwing, balloon popping, skateboard racing, bowling, and more. Children from kindergarten through sixth grade came to play the games. Children received tickets according to how well they played the games. The children were then able to use the tickets to buy things at the prize table.

The junior high and high school enjoy putting together the Compassion Fair, knowing they are helping someone less fortunate than them, and the elementary children really love coming.

The Central Maine Christian Academy school had a successful Compassion Fair this year. It was held on Oct. 4. The purpose of the fair is to raise money for the school’s sponsor child named Hamisi Mukisa. Hamisi is a little boy from the country of Uganda. He lives in the community of Bunalwenyi Village. He lives there with is father, mother and five siblings. his birthday is July 1996.

The grades seven through 12 make and run some different games while the preschool through six grades play the games. Everyone participating in this must pay a dollar. Then that money is used to sponsor Hamisi. In doing this, we are showing Christ’s love for others.
