At the end of the school year this coming June 2008, Lewiston High School will be hosting a trip to Italy. The two teachers who set up the trip were Mrs. Jorgensen and Mrs. Bushway. These two teachers will be supervising the trip throughout the country. The trip was organized through a world wide tour company known as EF Tours, which was the same company that the school went through for the 2006 educational trip to London, England.

The trip to Italy will last 10 days, two of which are travel days. On day one and two the students, parents and others attending the trip will leave from Boston and will fly to Rome, Italy. On day three, everyone will be visiting the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City. In Rome that same day the group will be visiting the Forum Romanum, the Trevi Fountain, and the Parthenon. Day four will take place in Florence, Italy, where the group will go to the Piazza della Signoria, and the Ponte Vecchio. On day five the group will be heading to Pisa, where they will be visiting the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa. Day six and seven the group will head to Venice where they will visit St. Mark’s Square, and the Grand Canal. Day eight will take place in Assisi, Rome where the group will visit the Basilica of St. Francis. On day nine the group will head back to Rome where they will get ready to leave the next day. The last day of the trip will consist of fly back home from Rome, Italy to Boston.

This trip in all will cost around $2,000, but it will be well worth the price. To bring down the cost of the trip the group had participate in the Pamper Chef fundraiser. The group is still looking for a few more people to join them on there adventure. The trip is open right now to all students, staff, and alumni of Lewiston High School and to everyone in the community.
