NORWICH, Conn. (AP) – A 70-year-old Norwich man and his son were both shot during what police believe was a domestic dispute at the father’s house.
Authorities were called to Lawrence Sowell’s home just before 7 a.m. Sunday on a report of shots fired. Police officers found him and 48-year-old Lawrence Sowell Junior suffering from gunshot wounds. Both are hospitalized in critical condition.
The elder Sowell was taken to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. His son is being treated at Backus Hospital in Norwich.
What happened is not yet clear.
Norwich police, state police and state prosecutors are investigating.
