WASHINGTON (AP) – Lawmakers in Washington say they’re working to get a federal grant to help the New Hampshire Air National Guard upgrade their headquarters at Pease.

Representatives for New Hampshire say they want to secure an $8.9 million grant for an Air National Guard construction project. Officials say the Air National Guard’s current Wing Headquarters has inadequate mechanical and electrical systems.

It also does not meet requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act and anti-terrorism standards.

Money secured would be used for a new 35,030-square foot facility.
