Air Force Senior Master Sgt. 1st Sgt. Marcus A. Jellerson is deployed to Qatar in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
Active duty and reserve component members from all branches of the U.S. armed forces have been deployed to support the war against global terrorism outside the borders of the United States. U.S. troops serve in South, Southwest and Central Asia, the Arabian peninsula, the Horn of Africa, islands in the Pacific, and Europe.
In Qatar, reserve component members are assigned to units serving under the U.S. Central Command, headquartered at MacDill Air Force Base, Tampa, Fla. The unified command manages the missions for both military operations and is responsible for U.S. security interests and assets in 27 nations stretching from the Horn of Africa, through the Arabian Gulf region, and into Central Asia.
Jellerson is a ground theater air control system superintendent normally assigned to the Headquarters Air Combat Command, Langley Air Force Base, Hampton, Va.
He is the son of Kathleen J. Gallant of Canton and his wife, Patricia, is the daughter of Bernadette Farina of Melbourne, Fla.
In 1985, he graduated from Sanford High School and received an associate degree in 1994 from the Community College of the Air Force.
