Dear Sun Spots readers: I have fantastic news regarding Nancy Chasse’s class ring (Sun Spots inquiry Nov. 6):
On the morning your publication was distributed, I received a call from Nancy’s sister-in-law. She forwarded Nancy’s number and then she and I spoke later that day.
I would like to thank Edward Little High School, Auburn Public Library (special thanks to Sharon McGilvery; she was the search engine at the library) and let’s not forget Sun Spots! You folks sure pulled the puzzle together. I’ve heard you have a great paper and obviously well read!! I’m so happy to finally get that ring back to its rightful owner. A happy ending to a long story. Best, Meaghan Cologgi.

Dear Sun Spots: I have been reading your column for quite a few years now. I am hoping some of your readers can help me out.
When I was a child, I used to make cookies with my mother using her Mirro Cookie Press. It broke years ago and since then I have been using other types of presses to make our cookies with, and really have not been satisfied with the quality.
I have a daughter of my own now and would dearly love to carry on the cookie making tradition with her. I still have some of the discs that go in Mom’s original press, but the press itself is long gone.
I was hoping that one of your readers may have one they would be willing to part with so that my daughter may join in on our family tradition. Please contact Christine Corriveau at 539-2205 or e-mail me at [email protected]. – Christine H. Corriveau, Otisfield.
Dear Sun Spots: I am holder of gift certificates at the now closed Lakeshore Cafe in Livermore. Can Sun Spots please find out if they are refundable through the former owners or maybe redeemable at another local restaurant as sometimes happens? Thanks. – No Name, Jay.
Answer: Contact former owner Tammy Castonguay at 897-2312.
