Red Ribbon Week at Jay

JAY – Students at Jay Middle School celebrated Red Ribbon Week during the week of Oct. 28 to Nov. 2. Red Ribbon Week is a time to give thanks to all who live a drug-free life and a time to pledge to be drug-, alcohol- and tobacco-free.

Students were encouraged to participate in theme days to show their support and commitment to living positive and healthy lifestyles.

The week was kicked off by the theme “Friends help friends be drug-free” during which students chose to dress like a friend.

The highlight of the week was Tuesday when students were encouraged to wear red to support the cause. More than 95 percent of the students and staff participated.

The week is part of an ongoing effort to raise awareness about the impact of drug and alcohol use on youth today.
