LISBON – Coombs Mountfort Post and Unit, American Legion, will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, at the post home, Webster Street.

Chinese auction

MECHANIC FALLS – There will be a Chinese auction from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at the Mechanic Falls Church of the Nazarene, 5 Oak St.

Hot dogs, chips and sodas will be on sale. Proceeds will benefit the Compassionate Ministries program, which sends kids to camp during the summer and assists people with heating bills and car repairs. For more information, call Pastor David Suitter at 345-3670 or Nancy Gatchell at 998-4591.

Fellowship

LISBON – The Lisbon Area Widows Fellowship will meet on Monday, Dec. 3, at the Lisbon United Methodist Church, School Street. The gathering will begin for fellowship at 11:30 a.m. followed by a potluck lunch. All interested widows in the area are invited.

LEWISTON – The Ladies of St. Ann of Holy Family Parish will have their annual Christmas buffet dinner on Tuesday, Dec. 4, at the Green Ladle Cafe. The doors will open at 5 p.m. and tickets are $15. Telephone club

LEWISTON – The Stevens Life Member Club, Telephone Pioneers, will hold the Christmas luncheon on Wednesday, Dec. 5, at the Ramada Inn. A social hour will be held at 11 a.m. followed by a family-style lunch at noon. Entertainment will follow. Nonperishable goods will be collected and distributed to a local food pantry. Financial aid

LISBON – Lisbon High School will host a financial aid night for senior students and parents at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, in the high school library. The basics of searching and applying for financial aid will be covered as well as addressing the free application for federal student aid application and creating a personal identification number on the computer.

Seniors meal

SABATTUS – Sabattus Senior Citizens held their Thanksgiving dinner on Nov. 1 with 107 members present. On Thursday, Dec. 6, members will have Christmas dinner of roast pork with all the fixings at Maxwell Hall. Gifts will be drawn and bingo will be played. Future trips will include Hukelau, Lancaster, Niagara, Washington, Myrtle Beach and a New Year’s Eve party at noon. To sign up for the Christmas party, call Doris Pelletier at 784-7950.
