LEWISTON – Tri-County Mental Health Services, Maine’s most comprehensive agency dealing with the psychological and social well-being of children, adults and elders, has elected the following officers to its board of directors:

President Dan Moreno, Auburn; 1st Vice President N. Paul Gauvreau, Lewiston; 2nd Vice President Deborah Simpson, Auburn; 3rd Vice President William Britting, Oxford; Secretary Roberta Lane, Auburn; and Treasurer Mike Williams, Auburn. Board clerk is Tri-County Executive Director Chris Copeland.

Other board members include: Patricia Burke, Baldwin; Chris DeMerchant, immediate past president, Lewiston; Craig Gunderson, Falmouth; Jolene Lovejoy, Rumford; and Martha Meeks, Rumford.

The election was part of the agency’s annual meeting. During the event, Copeland honored outgoing Board President Chris DeMerchant for three years of consistent passion and dedication to the agency and to the field of mental health care. Copeland also recognized the Tri-County employees celebrating 10, 15 and 20 years of loyalty to the agency, and presented the Inspiration and Giving Voice Awards.

Maine Attorney General Steve Rowe delivered the keynote address, encouraging future investments in Maine children. “High-quality early care and education is one of the very best economic investments we can make,” he said.

TCMHS employs about 500 people and serves more than 7,000 people each year in Androscoggin, Cumberland, Franklin and Oxford counties. For information, visit www.tcmhs.org.
