What’s been the highlight of your first three months here?
(Friday), scoring my first goal was good. I was hoping to get a goal soon. And it wasn’t a play, but when I got onto the power play, that was a big thing also.
Being a bit taller and bigger for your age, do you get treated differently as a rookie out there?
It doesn’t happen very often, getting (crap), but there was one time, someone gave me a lot, but not usually.
You already spoke English coming in, so what was the hardest adjustment you had to make?
I would have to say the road trips, the long road trips. In Midget AAA, it was never really more than an hour or something. These 12-hour trips have been hard at first.
What’s it like to feel the energy of a big crowd at home, like you finally got to do Friday?
I like it. You go to other rinks, and they’re loud all the time. Here, they were loud, but you see seats available everywhere. It was real fun to see people there and it was even louder.
What do you consider to be your main goal this season, your rookie season?
I’m still learning and everything and I’m just trying to gain experience. That’s what I want to do for the rest of the season.
