Goodwin honored on her 90th birthday
NORWAY – Elinor Goodwin, matriarch of the Stephens Volunteer Services Thrift Shop, was honored on Nov. 19 at Stephens Memorial Hospital at a surprise luncheon to celebrate her 90th birthday.
More than 30 guests, including fellow thrift shop volunteers, Stephens Memorial Hospital employees and her son, Stuart, celebrated Goodwin’s birthday and her decades of volunteer contributions to the shop.
Freda Truman, long-time friend and fellow volunteer, spoke of how much Goodwin means to the volunteers, and others present echoed her birthday wishes.
Goodwin said she was surprised, pleased and couldn’t believe that they were able to keep the birthday plans a secret. She thanked the volunteers for all their hard work and support.
