OXFORD – SAD 17 directors will meet today after the board’s usual Monday night meeting was postponed because of the snowstorm.
“We’re going to have it tomorrow night,” said Superintendent Mark Eastman Monday as he began to notify directors of the change.
The agenda will be highlighted by an update on the Chinese-Maine teacher exchange program that is being implemented this year at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School as the state’s first such exchange program.
Last spring, Eastman, High School Principal Ted Moccia, high school social studies teacher Craig Blanchard and teacher Jason Long went to China to negotiate the plan that brings a Chinese teacher to Oxford Hills in exchange for Long teaching at a Chinese school this winter.
Officials say they hope future exchanges will include more teachers and students.
Tonight’s meeting begins at 7 in the administration office meeting room.
