FARMINGDALE – Brittany Ladner sank two free throws with under 10 seconds remaining Thursday night, pushing Hall-Dale past Dirigo, 46-44, in a battle of Mountain Valley Conference girls’ basketball unbeatens.

Dirigo (2-1) rallied from a seven-point deficit and had a chance to sink the game-winner after making a steal. The Cougars missed the shot, however, and fouled Ladner in the rebounding action. Dirigo committed a turnover on its subsequent, final possession.

Carrie Jamison led the Cougars with 15 points, while Nikki Kaulback dropped in 10. Jane Hebert secured 10 rebounds and dished out three assists.

Arian Kumlangngan paced the Bulldogs (3-0) with 14 points.
