November 19 and 20, the junior high and high school classes went to the Wayside Bible Baptist Church in Livermore for a retreat. On Monday, we talked about living for Christ in tough times, the importance of getting into God’s word, modesty and purity in a pornographic culture, and an unchanging truth for a changing world.
Tuesday, we talked about how to really love our parents, the importance of talking to God, what the Bible says about our speech, and a call to commitment. Pastor Dan Corff, Mr. Roger Labbe, Mr. Gregory and Mrs. Gregory were the people who discussed these topics with us. We were also fed great food during the retreat. I enjoyed it a lot!
On Nov. 19 and 20, the students of Central Maine Christian Academy went to Wayside Baptist Church for a conference. It lasted from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. for two days. The speakers talked about obeying your parents, purity, our language and in how we talk, the truth of the Bible and a couple of other things. In-between the conference, there were breaks with hot chocolate and snacks.
I enjoyed the conference very much and thought the people taught very well. I am very thankful for Wayside Baptist Church because of their help with putting on this conference. It was a good idea because it helped learn more about God and His Word.
