Snowboard park in works at Titcomb

FARMINGTON – Jim Sawyer, maintenance manager, and volunteers are preparing a new snowboard terrain park at Titcomb Mountain in West Farmington for the 2007-2008 season.

Work was started on cutting the trees in October. The wood was sawed into firewood length and sold, netting approximately $1,700 for the club.

One club member donated $2,000 to be used in building the terrain park. The money was used to pay for having of the brush shipped and to purchase lights for the park.

After the trees and the brush were removed, E.L. Vining and Son donated a large excavator and operator to remove the rocks and stumps and level the terrain.

The next step is to install the fun boxes, which are being built by Rob Olson’s welding students at Foster Technical Center. Richard Forster, Building and Grounds Committee, and volunteers are working on the project.
