FRAMINGHAM, Mass. (AP) – A Framingham woman has been accused of setting her boyfriend on fire, then telling police he set himself ablaze when he was drunk.

Twenty-five-year-old Rosilandy DeSouza is charged with trying to kill Jose Dos Santos.

Police say she sprayed him with rubbing alcohol Thursday then ignited him with a lighter.

Police say they found rubbing alcohol in the sink.

Dos Santos couldn’t speak because of damage to his vocal cords. But police say he shook his head “yes” when asked if DeSouza deliberately burned him.

DeSouza’s lawyer argued all the facts might not be out.

until a dangerousness hearing next week.

Police say DeSouza said she found Dos Santos burning after a fire alarm woke her.
