BRUNSWICK (AP) – The lawyer who led the process of creating a plan for reusing the Brunswick Naval Air Station is stepping down.
Martin Wilk tendered his resignation from the Midcoast Regional Redevelopment Authority on Dec. 26 in a letter to Gov. John Baldacci.
Wilk, an attorney and former town councilor, says the timing was right to step down now, before the MRRA begins its work in earnest. The 3,000-acre base is due to be closed in 2011.
