BUCKFIELD – Sophomore Ashlee Hamman scored 15 points to lead Buckfield to a 57-33 triumph over Old Orchard Beach in girls’ basketball action Saturday.

The undefeated Bucks (9-0) built momentum as the game progressed, outscoring the Seagulls (2-8) 35-14 in the second half. Tristen Newton posted nine rebounds in the winning effort.

Oxford Hills 61, Mt. Blue 45

FARMINGTON – Oxford Hills outscored Mt. Blue, 18-4, in the fourth quarter to pull away to a 61-45 win Saturday in KVAC girls’ basketball action.

Kari Pelletier scored 18 points to lead the Vikings, while Megan Joyce chipped in with 12. Meaghan Robinson paced Mt. Blue with 15 points, while Sabrina Keach added 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Lisbon 40, Mt. Abram 34

LISBON – Christy McAuliffe scored 12 points and hauled down 14 rebounds to lead Lisbon to an important 40-34 victory over Mt Abram.

The Greyhounds (8-5) opened up a 23-10 halftime lead, but the Roadrunners (7-5) held Lisbon to three points in the third quarter to tighten up the game.

Emily Moore added nine points for Lisbon, while Sam Purcell had seven points and seven rebounds. Kenni Norton and Jenessa Burbank led Mt. Abram with 11 points and seven rebounds apiece. Norton also had six steals.

Lake Region 50, Gray-NG 39

GRAY – Lake Region opened a 10-point lead after one quarter and held off Gray-New Gloucester down the stretch for a 50-39 victory.

The Patriots (6-6) twice closed to within two points in the final quarter before Lake Region (11-2) pulled away by converting its free throws.

Renee Nicholas led the Lakers with 18 points and Erica Webb added 12. Laura Getchell led Gray-New Gloucester with nine points. Meghan Dehetre and Chelsey Durgin scored eight each.

Hyde 43, Hebron 24

BATH – Hyde jumped out to a 15-6 lead after the first quarter and never looked back while knocking off Hebron, 43-24, in girls’ basketball action Saturday.

Steph Urzua poured in a game-high 16 points to lead the Phoenix (3-3). Annie Hart had seven points while Emily Powers added six for Hebron (6-3).

Rangeley 32, Forest Hills 20

RANGELEY – Krista Jamison tallied a double-double and Rangeley shut out Forest Hills in the first quarter but still had to pull away in the fourth for a 32-20 win Saturday.

Rangeley led 10-0 after one and 16-12 at the half, but saw that cushion trimmed to two at the end of the third quarter. The Lakers (5-6) buckled down on defense again and held Forest Hills to just three points in the fourth quarter. Jamison finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds while Sam Olivieri added seven points and 10 boards for Rangeley. Crystal Allen led Forest Hills with nine points.

Madison 59, Jay 24

MADISON – Senior center Margo Russell scored a game-high 13 points and seven rebounds to lead Madison to a convincing 59-24 victory over Jay in MVC girls’ basketball action Saturday.

The Bulldogs (12-0) jumped out to a 29-11 halftime lead. Senior forward Briann Emery contributed 12 points for Madison.

Hillary Deane scored six points to lead the Tigers (7-5).

Edward Little 48, Brewer 30

BREWER – Sophomore point guard Kirsten Prue tossed in a game-high 17 points to lead Edward Little to a 48-30 win over Brewer in KVAC girls’ basketball action Saturday.

The Red Eddies (7-6) received an outstanding performance from Abigail Downs, who had eight points. Junior forward Leah paced the Witches (3-8) with 10 points.

Hall-Dale 42, Livermore Falls 39

LIVERMORE FALLS – Sophomore guard Brittany Ladner drained a game-high 13 points to lift Hall-Dale to a 42-39 triumph over Livermore Falls in MVC girls’ basketball action Saturday.

The Bulldogs jumped out to a 27-15 halftime lead, but struggled in the fourth quarter. The Andies (2-11) cut seven points off Hall-Dale’s lead in the final frame.

Ester Bizier recorded 11 points, while Kendra Lyman posted 10 points for Livermore Falls.

Dirigo 40, Wiscasset 32

DIXFIELD – Dirigo opened an 11-point lead at the half, then survived a cold snap in the third quarter to hold off Wiscasset for a 40-32 triumph.

The Cougars (7-6) struggled to score against Wiscasset’s zone in the third quarter, when they were held to three points, but found the range in the final eight minutes to pull away.

Carrie Jamison and Tricia Turner led Dirigo with 10 points each. Jamison added seven rebound and four steals, while Nikki Kaulback had nine assists and eight steals. Marissa Hammond led Wiscasset (1-11) with 16 points and Foxy Buck added 11.
