It’s been brought up recently that some students find it unfair that their Top 10 spots in their class are being taken away by students taking easier classes. The students are happy that the other kids get good grades, but they shouldn’t be in the Top 10 when they’re taking the easier classes.
Think about this. You are taking the most advanced math class available to you during your senior year. You try your hardest, and you get #10 out of your class. Then, the school finds someone who has a better math grade than you, and make them #10. But, they’re in the easier class. How would that make you feel? I think that it is totally unfair. It may make the person feel good about themselves, but when it comes down to the smarter person, the person taking the harder class is smarter and has worked much harder.
