LEWISTON – Bryan Bonenfant and Caleb Labrie scored two goals apiece Sunday to lead the Maine Gladiators’ Squirt Tier I travel team past Southern Maine Breakers, 8-2, at Androscoggin Bank Colisee.

Bonenfant set up Labrie for the first goal of the game. Bonenfant also teamed with Labrie to set up Joey Frechette in the first period, and Frechette fed Labrie just prior to intermission.

Frechette and Tyler O’Connor assisted Bonenfant’s goals in the middle stanza, part of a four-goal outburst. Griffin Wade also connected courtesy of Cam Stewart and Brady Cusson, with Stewart set up by Cusson for another goal.

Austin Roy cashed in an assist from Brendon Croteau to round out the scoring in the third period.

The Gladiators also played to a pair of 2-2 ties in Valley League competition at Lawrence, Mass.

Roy assisted both Gladiator goals in the opener against Tewksbury, the first by Nathan Richard and the second by Stewart.

Labrie and Bonenfant scored in the nightcap against the top team in the division, Pentucket, with Croteau collecting an assist.
