Mrs. Brito is the Career prep teacher at Lewiston Middle School. She has parents and people from the Lewiston Auburn area come in after school to talk about their jobs. It is called Careers in Action, or CIA.

One of these parents was Russ Dillinghan. He’s a photographer for the Sun Journal. He told the kids how to tell a story with a photograph. Originally Dillinghan had gone to college to become a psychiatrist. But he really liked photography so he decided to become photographer instead. He also answered questions about being a photographer and working at the Sun/Journal.

Careers In Action allows speakers to come in, after school for half an hour, and answer some of the questions kids have about their jobs in the real world. Mrs. Brito says that she is trying to get a person from the military to come and talk to the students. She also wants parents and people from the L/A area to come and tell the middle school kids about their jobs. CIA is a good program because kids can ask about the jobs they might want to do when they get older, and it gives them an opportunity to meet someone who is actually working in that field.
