Over the summer I went to this Conservation Camp. It is in Bryan Pond. There they have a lot of different activities that you could go for.

I just happened to go there for my hunter and boaters safety course. I went there for free because I won a contest last year during school, I didn’t f ind out that I had won till about he middle of the summer.

But I had a life changing experience to go there and see what it was like to go to a camp for a whole week without any of my family there with me. It was the longest I had ever gone with none of my family there with me. I had a blast though. It changed me by the way I look differntly at nature, I learned how to live in the nature, and I also learned how to treat a gun and the softy rules of hunting.

We did a whole bunch of different activities like, Camouflage, which is a game that you have to go and hide and then one person stays in a circle then tries to spot the other people with out moving out of the circle. The people that are hiding have to run up and tag the person that is looking when thay are counting. That is Camouflage. You don’t just do what you go there to learn, but you do a lot of activities off to the side.

On the last night there we had a camp fire with someone using those fire sticks, the sticks that people toss up in the air that have fire on the ends.

It effected my life by being able to go and to see all the different people from all over the state of Maine.

I got to meet a lot of new people and I made a lot of new friends. Some of the people I was friends with I probably will never see them again, but whatever. I am fine with that. The most important thing was that I actually had a chance to go and I was able to go. I did have plans that week, but I ended up canceling them because I really wanted to go to the Conservation Camp.

Like I said, going to that camp just gave me a life changing experience. My sister went a couple years before me I am not quite sure when. But when she came back I was so jealous because I didn’t get to go. Ever since then I have been trying to get in with doing contests and f finally last year I made it in.

Well I had the time of my life and maybe I will be able to go back sometime.
