LIMERICK – Two snowmobiles and possibly a third reportedly crashed through the ice on Lake Arrowhead, a spokeswoman for the Maine Warden Service said Saturday night.

A caller alerted officials around 4 p.m. that two sleds could be seen sticking up through the ice near a boat ramp on the lake, said Deborah Turcotte.

No one in the area has been reported missing and no one has reported losing a snowmobile on the lake, she said. All indications are that the people escaped injury.

Officials plan to send a dive team to the area this morning to investigate, she said.
